Measure first
Measure each room, account for recesses and sum the areas in the same unit. For a rectangular room, area equals length multiplied by width. Convert square feet to square metres consistently.
Allow for the layout
Straight planks, diagonal layouts and herringbone patterns have different cutting requirements. Use the calculator as a planning tool and discuss the allowance with the installer.
Confirm carton quantities
The final order must match the coverage per carton and agreed packing. Round only after the exact product and carton coverage are confirmed. Keep repair stock separate from the initial installation allowance.
